1.
leaves fade, an obvious warning. obey a course so ruthless. return to dark corridors. recall that drives me insane. the truth lays like dead leaves. i am sentenced, you'll forget. we shared nothing, that won't change. until i brush it all away again.
2.
endless forbidden mourning. fog of rose, rain of gold. stained-glass light, simple clothes. you appear, you take hold. you punish me, a secret hell. on this night's verge of tears. one last wish cuts through bliss. let me, please, finish this. let me, please, be rid of this. butchered unknowingly. by the hand, the eyes, the name. consume your sacrifice. unconsciously finish me. end this fucking mourning.
3.
it feels so good to be here. i can't believe the pain. i would have torn skies for you. i would have let you see. it feels so good to be here. i can't believe i came. i would have cut christ for you. i should have let you be.

about

"Disturbing...A challenging and emotive record that defies categorisation. This is how you compose avant-garde metal music." - Scream Blast Repeat

A bass-driven blend of post-metal, industrial, and doom, Slain Thought's debut "A Failed Exorcism" is a journey full of heartache and hellfire that explores the mental toll of grieving unfulfilled wishes.

From the melancholy and apocalyptic "Sacred Season" to the venom and desperation of "A Punishment Plate" to the noise and euphoria of "Lavender Soil," "A Failed Exorcism" tells the story of shameful devotion to the unobtainable and long-gone with leaden bass chords, anguished delay-drenched vocals, big beats, subtle keyboards, and dissonant, mournful guitars.

Slain Thought was conceived when project architect Jason Mosheim picked up the bass again during a stretch of downtime following a running injury in the fall of 2020. As the songs started to take shape on the bass, Mosheim committed to writing, performing, and engineering the music himself in the spare bedroom of his house, although he had to go down to the basement once to record some chains.

Inspiration: Lingua Ignota, Moor Mother, Dreamcrusher, dub.

A Failed Exorcism is Part 1.
